More information:
The Future of Information Technology
A look at the continuing evolution of Information Technology, and the
ever-shortening timeline of future developments.
Mankind took half a million years from discovering fire to develop beer,
but only 25 years elapsed between the discovery of the transistor and
the development of the microchip. The presentation takes us from the
time of Babbage, forward to an age where research and development
produce feedback that renders products obsolete before they marketed, or
can breathe new life into long-forgotten techniques. A near future where
Open Source will have an impact far beyond mere software, and the way in
which we look at our hardware will be radically different.
Bring your own popcorn.
