Auckland LUG December Meeting - Meet Greet and Quiz |
|
Submitted by BlakJak on 1 Dec 2008 - 1:41pm |
Auckland |
The AuckLUG Meeting for December 2008 is scheduled for TONIGHT (sorry for short notice - however, this is the first Monday of the Month which is the regular routine) with the venue being the Vodafone building, corner of Fanshaw Street and Halsey Drive (access from Viaduct Harbour Avenue).
This from Martin Kealey:
"Meet-and-greet until about 7:15.
Then a short talk, subject to wrangling a speaker; failing that (and if people are keen) I can talk about "interesting ways to break your email service" and/or "obfuscated bash scripting and other fun").
Then I'm hoping to have an "ask the experts" panel session. Volunteers to be "experts" gratefully accepted: do you know how to script a PPP connection? Compile a device driver? Convert a Windows installation to a VM? Hand-roll an xorg.conf? Cross-compile a Palm-OS app using GCC?"
Those attending are requested to RSVP direct to Martin and include a cellphone number in case of cancellation (notice via SMS will be made if this occurs).
Monday, 1 December 2008
Starts at 7pm.
