| This from Nevyn... Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd send out a reminder about the barbeque this weekend. I've been thinking about what to bring along and any preparation I should do before hand. Things like making up some chick pea patties, for the vegetarians, and buying some foil trays for the cooked food. Perhaps some chicken sausages (do they still do those fantastic Chicken and Garlic Sausages>) if I can convince someone to bring along a couple of loaves of bread (hint hint). Of course we're going to need something liquid as well and kids because kids and barbeques just seem to go well together (and that's without having the two occupy the same space). | This from Nevyn: Hi Everyone, Well it's finally upon us - the last formal meeting for the year. Subject: PXE booting. PXE booting allows to you boot from a network resource. This can be used to provide a way of installing OSes in a large organisation or to provide a desktop on low end machines. Who: Glen Ogilvie When: November 2nd, 2009. Monday at 7. Where: Open Systems Specialists. Level 1, 162 Grafton Road. (The Compass Building, corner of Grafton Rd and Khyber Pass, opposite the Southern Cross Healthcare building) OpenStreetMap - (look at the streets rather than the arrow...) Please be punctual as someone needs to come down to the door to let you in and late comers can make things a tad awkward. Other Notes: There is a chance for this meeting to be a bit more interactive. | The Auckland Linux User Group is pleased to announce their August meeting:
Subject: Open Street Map A "google maps"-like project except that all the data is open. It includes, not just the front end but also an API for using that data. Given that Rob has said that the presentation is around 1/2 an hour long, we could probably have a bit of an open session afterwards. Just bear in mind that the venue closes at 9 so we should be wrapped up by then. | |

When: 7:00 pm Monday 6 April 2009 Where: Vodafone building, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue Parking: anywhere in Halsey St Guest Speaker: Vik Olliver, speaking on RepRap.
