Hi all... Well, it's been a while since we had any traffic here. Far too long. Special apologies to Steve C., who generously offered us a place to meet up, and none of us ever got around to responding to him. I'm writing this email because, well, I'm bored. I work from home, and although I talk to a lot of geeks on the phone, it's not quite the same as hanging out with them and playing with/showing off interesting toys. Part of the problem for me, and why I haven't really been pushing getting things together, is that I don't like being the one who always gets roped into presenting things at meetings. I'm sure we've got plenty of highly skilled people around the Wairarapa, but we haven't reached a critical mass, and we should do more to try and reach others who likely aren't aware of us. It'll make it more fun for all of us. How about we organise a get-together for sometime in the near future, at this stage without any presentations or anything, but just to have a chat and see if we can make things work as a LUG? We can bring toys to keep it interesting :-) SteveC - if your offer of meeting at Computer Troubleshooters still stands, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Nic. -- Nic Bellamy <nic at bellamy.co.nz>
