Both my wife and myself use it for a desktop, but that's because (a) I'm capable at managing it, (b) I don't want to "waste" a machine on another distribution, even if it is more immediately desktop-friendly (over 90% of the stuff I develop runs on Debian, so that's what's best for the development thereof). Getting Debian to the stage of a comfortable desktop takes a while, even for me, and I've been using it as one since... err. 1998 I think. But once going it stays going, and has all the home comforts I am used to. Although I must say: apt-rpm is a *GODSEND*. It has taken Redhat out of my Little Black Book of Evil into my Just Don't Particularly Like It book.
