For the most part, memory is more important than CPU power. Full rate DSL or Jetstart? It'll also depend on the type of modem you get - if the one you get has the Linux box doing the PPP side of things (which is way more flexible), you'll be fine for jetstart but may want something faster for jetstream. I found the Linux box doing PPP + firewalling was CPU-bound at around the 200K/sec mark, and couldn't do any faster. More grunt will also be needed if you're wanting an IMAP server instead of just POP3.
