The links in the OP show tests on HD content. 720p played just, thats your lot.
Re heat, there seems to be differing results. The mark one had a fan, the mark 2 no fan, and the mark 3 back to a fan. The one i have (mk2) the CPU sink runs really cool. Not much more than warm. However the north bridge is hot, too hot to touch. You either need a PSU fan nearby or a  case fan, or replace the north bridge sink with an old p3 cpu sink as others have done. The whole baord only draws 25W so we arent talking a lot of heat. As for performance, my experience is that it feels faster than my 2.66 GB Northwood. 

The other thing to watch is it draws most of its power from the 12V bus, and indeed has the 4 pin 12 volt connector. Some EPIA style cases with 60W DC-Dc PSUs dont provide that much in the 12V department.

As for cases still looking for a cute small case locally. Might get a friend to bring something back from the states like one of these.
