Have you guys discovered these?
Intel D201GLY2 (MoB+CPU available here for under $110.)

Add a 1GB DDR2 667 RAM chip and a picopsu DC PSU and you have a really cheap quiet computer with 150 possible uses. Ideal for NAS/gateway/media whatever servers. Theres obviously plenty of corners been cut to get it down to this price, but it runs fine as a office desktop box, play DVDs without grief and the on board sound is pretty fair.

It has an embedded Conroe chip running at 1.2G, I have been heartily impressed with the compromise intel made between performance and energy efficiency. Its a passively cooled competitor to the overpriced EPIA stuff, uses 25W total. Not as low as some EPIA or Alix type baords, but more powerful by a long shot and cheaper aswell. If this is a foot in the water in terms of future 45nm Atom boards, cool.

You just have to watch hardware compatibility. People have reported their ram chips wont work, and i had trouble with 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapters. Stick to basic stuff.
