Found something. It appears aptitude search doesn't search through
descriptions. apt-cache search found fluxconf which includes a menu
editor. My initial reaction to it is that it's primitive, lacks any
sort of usability, and worse yet, made the menu unusable as it removed
the "begin" statement from the ~/fluxbox/menu.list file.

Still haven't found whatever it is that's supposed to generate a menu.
I.e. I typed in `aptitude install abiword` and found no mention of
abiword in the menu.
