To do that, do I remove this, or change to Disable?
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

# glxinfo | grep rend
direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon X1200 Series

$ man fglrx
No manual entry for fglrx

$ xine-ui
bash: xine-ui: command not found

Not on this machine

Thanks for all the suggestions, but they don't seem to be describing
what this machine does.
Actually, most of it works. Think I'll have to work out how to undo
what I've done and start again. I installed the same OS on a lappy
which uses intel drivers and it's fine (apart from the intel
limitations).
best
