I did. You stated what the banks are probably thinking - which is valid.
The original question is still unanswered though (and I don't have any
more answers either).

Btw assuming that Microsoft is listening here is probably safe. They
have enough money to pay someone to monitor lists like these and squash
any rebellion early whereever they can. I have it off-list that
Microsoft employees are subscribed to CLUG, and I don't assume it's for
the purpose of promoting Linux.
