I've been getting the same in the same areas.
One customer came thru with a work vista laptop and i informed him that
if hes gonna go around other intenret cafes he should use an AntiVirus
and he said he didnt need it since its Vista, he isnt on XP anymore so
hes safe from viruses.
Vista is far more secure from those viruses but it still doesnt make
Vista untouchable for viruses.
If you want some fun, walk in pretending to be an idiot to a place like
Noel Lemmings, you'll get the same amount of stupidity there.
We have 15 odd machines and 2 of them being Vista, I do have to admit -
the Vista machines get trashed more than they get infected, and the XP
systems get trashed by the viruses. I don't really care to record the
specific virus but its really good to know that the maintainence of
Vista is alot less caused by the UAC intergrated into it.
As a rule of thumb never trust, MS sales reps, Noel Lemming staff (who
work on comission $$) and anyone who thinks AVG is the best Antivirus
they've ever used. (I love these guys) and above all, the people who
think Telecom are just the best company in NZ and their new "worldmode"
(aka Hybrid) phones are awesome things.
