Ah, I found that yes, there is a reason for not using it: it doesn't work
with this chipset (and, before someone mentions it, my parents aren't up
for recompiling the madwifi driver whenever a kernel update comes out).

Going to make do without encryption for now, and will keep an eye open for
an updated driver to come into hardy at some stage.
