We currently have a tape device which is completely locked up under SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server 9.3 and no matter what we do it is given the error in the
subject line.

I've tried fuser /dev/st0 and kill -15 and kill -9 on the pid of the process
holding the device. I've also tried sg_reset -b and -d on /dev/st0 but all of
these give device or resource busy error messages.

Does anyone know of way to reset a scsi tape device without doing a reboot?

Thanks.
