On the subject of Acer and Linux, there's this:

It's an EEE competitor, and looks pretty good, with a great price. The
distro is Linpus Lite Linux, which is Taiwanese, based on Fedora.  The
Linux version will use Flash, but the XP version will have a hard drive.

To be honest, I really want an EEE, but I want the original 701 with a
bigger screen.  Such a thing does not really exist, since the later ones
have become more bloated and more expensive.  The EEE really exposed a
massive new market, so I expect before too long I'll be spoiled for
choice.
