I wouldn't mind if they did. There have been a few 'anti-linux' articles
published that we'd very much like to discuss online, but couldn't because
they were only available under restrictive terms. Besides, it wouldn't work
with an anti-linux article; the linux geeks would just mail it amongst
themselves with rebuttal and mostly consider the magazine 'crap' for
publishing it.
I think this could be a good opportunity for Consumer if they wanted to try
a bit of 'viral marketing'. Put this one whole issue online as a pdf, with
attribution, non commercial, no derivatives. A bunch of Linux geeks mail it
to all their windows-using friends, it ends up on just about every desktop
in the country, some of those people read the rest of the mag and end up
subscribing. That has to be good marketing.
