Greetings,
NZ Consumer has just published a report on linux - I guess it will be
in the paper mag version sometime.
<snip>
The July issue of Consumer (just out) does not contain the item on Linux.
It is (I believe) possible that only the online edition of Consumer will carry the item.

It might be an idea to suggest to consumer that they release this particular
article under a "Creative Commons" licence

I have emailed editor at consumer.co.nz as follows:
Hi, I am a member of the NZ Linux Users Group (NZLUG).
Great interest has been roused amongst the membership by the online article on Linux:
http://www.consumer.org.nz/topic.asp?category=Computers%20%26%20Phones&subcategory=Computers%20-%20software&docid=5198&topic=Linux&title=Introduction&contenttype=summary
Two questions have arisen:
1 Will the article be published in the magazine, or is it only for online subscribers? If so, when?
2 With the article's reasonable assessment of Linux for home users, many members would like to both read the full text of and share your article with others who might not otherwise come across it. To that end, and keeping in mind your copyright on the article, the suggestion has been made that you consider eventually publishing it under a "Creative Commons" licence. The article would then become very widely read and quoted, both in NZ and overseas.
Creative Commons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_commons
Much of the initiative behind Creative Commons comes from Lawrence Lessig, who is to be the 6th keynote speaker at the LIANZA (Library) Conference taking place at SkyCity Convention Centre, Auckland from 2- 5 November 2008.
Regards, Bob Harvey.
Cheers, all.
