[nzlug] Copying files.....

Over the last couple of days I've been noticing some really strange
networking issues between my Linux box and my windows box. I'm trying
to copy a file which is all of 600MB big onto a samba share. I've also
tried rsync and scp as well as a normal copy and nothing seems to
work.

It's got a "connection reset by peer" message and seems to come up
with the error every 2 or 3 seconds or so. So I could put it into a
loop to just continue copying the file, but I'd rather like to know
why the error is happening in the first place.

Also, while it's going at a blazing 2MB/sec (it's a gigabit switch and
gigabit cards though I've never really tested them to see what speed I
get at the best of times), everything else being accessed from the
Linux box stops. All of the computers have been restarted and the
switch reset.

Any ideas as to what might be going on here?
