I do a lot of work on servers, so I pick CentOS.

A bit late, but my vote is Xandros 4.0 Professional.

Yes, it's 18 months old (not including online updates), but it is still the
best distro on my hardware.

I have old hardware. 2GHz, 512MB, Nvidia 6xxx series video card, 180GB of HD
and a DVD R/W drive, on-board sound chips - just work.

Roughly the same spec as many low-end systems being sold new today......
