[nzlug] RMS HBCLUG (Possible Visit...)

Those who have been a bit surprised to find me plugging the "Free
Software" angle more fiercely than normal may be interested to learn
that RMS has been offering suggestions about changing HBCLUG to be more
GNU-friendly. He *really* doesn't like to see the "Linux" without the
"GNU/" in front.

"HiC GLUG" for eg. ;)

So I've found myself arguing the opposite end in another place...

However - as long as you prefix your OS names properly, he's quite
approachable and easy to talk to.

I've been thinking it would be cool to get him down here to do one of
his talks... he's keen, and can come August.

What sort of interest is there in this?

As international speakers go, he's easier to get hold of than most and
could cause a bit of a media splash. We don't have to agree with him to
enjoy it, in fact, it's probably more fun if we don't... we can invite
MS.

Perhaps the University and maybe Novell could help? I can put him up and
drive him around... that leaves air-fare and fee. (Doesn't insist on a
fee but suggests the difference in cost between an economy and
business-class airfare.) I'm a total noob at this...
