Well, I wouldn't really recommend debian as a desktop ( well, except for loonies like me! ), but yes, I do use NFS, and my uptimes were over 400 days before moving the servers, and they're back in 3 digits again now. And they really do work hard for a living.

Yes, I'd recommend debian as a server OS - personally the only problems I have on debian sid desktop is firefox tbh - but I don't use beagle.
