[nzlug] Grannix? Looking for a simple distro with Icon based menu like eeePC

Thanks for the responses.

The problem is that none of these distros seem to do what I'm looking 
for (out of the box).  I'm sure I could configure it, but time is the 
lacking factor at the moment.  I can't even find 'add-on' interfaces 
that do this on top of other WMs.

Performance on old hardware is nice, but the interface is my main concern.

I want it to start up and go straight to a few big icons in the middle 
of the screen.  No drop down (or pullup) menu, desktop switcher, 
calendar in the corner, and I do want it locked down (e.g. root can change).

The eeePC interface was quite close to what I imagined (but even still a 
bit cluttered).  Screen resolution & size on the eeePC is not great, but 
the user's eyesight is good, and the form factor is actually a plus in 
this regard.

I'll keep looking...
