If they are software developers, ikiwiki and their VCS.
If they are not, Mediawiki.

My understanding from people who have installed it themselves is that it
can be a bit of a pain to get running, and that custom themes and
upgrades go together like knives and your feet.

I just used the Debian packages and it just worked. :)
