I remember installing Debian on a laptop and after about 1/2 an hour
of configuring I sat there thinking to myself "now what?"

With Windows it was this constant struggle to get things looking and
acting the way I wanted them to. My own use of Linux is experimental
rather than just getting the job done.

Breaking things is kind of fun (except when you find that you haven't
broken anything at all - there's a pending bug report and nothing
appears to be happening).
