Hi Everyone,
I'm currently running a web server for a club that I'm involved with, it's a
rather old machine running Ubuntu Server 7.10 with a standard lamp setup
which I have tweaked a bit to try and get more out of it.
I've been watching top over ssh now and then however it's very difficult to
get an idea of exactly how much load the server is under this way.
I was wondering if there is a reliable way of measuring resource usage and
performance usage over a period of time. I would be particularly interested
in something that will give me average CPU and memory usage over a
designated period (pretty graphs would be nice too but aren't required!).
Something that has a web interface would be ideal.
I've looked into a couple of webalizer type packages, but they are
understandably more concerned with traffic and don't really fir my
requirements.
As an aside: It'd also be good to have a way to measure the response time of
the server, but I have no idea how to go about it!
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Rob Connolly
