behind Acer nad this product as, we feel, it represents a step in the
"and this product"
it. There are reports that XP is a problem install to this hardware.
"install onto" ?
With Ubuntu, the laptop flies along with fully functioning wifi internet
and a snappy, non-nonsense, user interface. And it has all the linux
goodies we've come to expect.
"interface - and it has" (naughty, never start sentence with "And")
Microphone dosn't work
Modem dosn't work
Doesn't or don't - make your mind up :)
(Items with a star are claimed, by acer, as disabled due to limitations
of linux.)
"Acer" with caps.

The acer-e is supposed to launch acer's special enhancements for
"Acer's"
Windows. Linux dosn't need them. Presumably the limitaion is that
"doesn't" "imitation"
gnuLinux wan't run Windows executables. Since acer have chosen to limit
"won't" "Acer"
easy to fix this by entering the setup (F2 at the acer screen) and
"Acer"
changing the boot order. I also disabled netboot completely, and removed
the acer screen as well.
"Acer"
then edit /etc/fstab to change "ekt2" to "ext3". The changes take effect
immediately.
"ext2"
Curiously, the journal is enabled by default on Ubuntu. Somebody at acer
chose to deliberately turn it off.
"Acer"
suda apt-get install ffmpeg2theora
"sudo"
