This is great news. I can set this one as fixed.
Out of Acer's four linux gripes, three are fixable. This leaves the
microphone.

You know - Vik may be onto something with the suggestion to help
coordinate acer/linux releases? Perhaps Acer will lend me some of their
higher spec lappies for, um, review?
