[nzlug] Virtualizating DataCAD?

I'm a virtualization newbie enjoying the thread "VMware x Xen x KVM x
Qemu." I'm about to try to support running DataCAD
http://www.datacad.com/ for someone using my kubuntu box.

Anyone here have experience pos or neg with DataCAD in eg. VMware, or in
fact with any other virtualized CAD? I assume there is no special magic
required by CAD packages that a virtualization server can't provide?

DataCAD uses a hardware key (dongle) in either a parallel or USB port.
Is that OK with virtualization?

It runs on Windows 2000, XP or Vista. Which one should I buy?

Would I have a chance of running DataCAD under Wine? What about
CrossOver or similar?

Thanks,
Johann
