I had thought that Installfest was great - loads of communication
(weekly irc meetings) and everyone knew what everyone else was doing.
There was talk the following year about doing another one I think, but
I was discouraged by the meeting for it - a few of us were there on
time and discussed stuff but the majority of the people were late and
efforts of those who were on time I felt to have been undermined.
Also some of the same issues of the previous year had come up as new
people were getting interested in helping out which wasn't helping as
we were then treading over old ground and not learning from the
previous experience - things that had tempers raging and threatened to
have a competing installfest due to personal agendas.
I suppose this is what Debian sometimes suffers from - rule by
committee when the committee can't agree on anything.
But I'm hoping, as the AuckLUG is a community of sorts, that we can
maybe band together and do a community effort next year.
