I believe that there are people in Auckland that may well be doing
something, but it would seem that it's small pockets of people doing their
own things independently - which is fine. AuckLUG has the problem in that
it doesn't really 'exist'. If people who have put some effort into helping
on the list and/or attend the meetings want to organise some event and use
the "AuckLUG" 'brand' then all they have to do is clear it with the
mailing list. For example some years ago we did do a large annual AuckLUG
installfest. Our Installfests have not continued due to lack of volunteers
with free time. Although I notice the Auckland Uni guys seem to be doing
some now which is great.
