this doesn't seem to be the issue here for me, as it's completely frozen
except for the described effects. So switching desktop or app is not possible
anymore.
Also it happened quite frequently already on various very small documents,
even after just launching OO.o.

Doubt it. The last time it happened today was after opening a file off of a
web page, so it was located in /tmp/... and not modified, just viewed.

Have just turned off OpenGL and HW acceleration. Let's see what happens.

Good idea. Just done that. Doubt it would fix things, as the docs partially
were quite small, and big ones did work in the past as well.
The biggest problem is, that the problem is not reproducible ... :(
