My apologies. I am replying to a message for the sake of replying to a
message. I am drunk (once again). Okay, one of my great gripes of the
perception of the internet and technology in general.

A year ago (or maybe 2?) a lass committed suicide apparently due to
bullying via text. When I was in college I found out a former "friend"
from intermediate had committed suicide, again from bullying. I felt
terribly guilty from it even though I didn't know him at the time
because I hadn't particularly liked the guy when I did know him.

Every now and again I would be approached by someone handing me
"information" from a Christian group or the Hare Krishna's or some
other domination representing some group or another trying to sell me
religion. All this while walking up and down queen street. I never
asked for this "information", nor did I ever give the perception (as
far as I know) that I wanted this "information". However, I could, if
I wanted to avoid it, not walk down Queen St.

However, it's not until I got heavily involved on the internet, that
someone has tried to sell me a handbag. Me, a great looking, if I do
say so myself, guy standing at over 6' tall. Call me vein, but I do
think this is why people have never approached me on Queen St. to buy
a handbag.

Communication has come to a point where now I'm the target of all
sorts of things that I never asked for, wanted, needed or even thought
about. Bullying over txt? Teenagers have always communicated in
certain ways in which case there have been the in crowd and the
others. Of course some one committed suicide after being bullied via
txt - the bullies have always been there but it's not until it's done
via txt that it becomes news.

So two points to the story here. I never wanted it. The internet has
encouraged communication. There are always going to be toads (I would
apologise here Stanley except I don't think your approach to this list
warrants it) who communicate stuff I don't want. On the other hand, at
least at high school (things do move on to some extent right?) there
are things that are going to communicated to me that I don't
particularly want to hear.

So basically, it (add constanants <sp?> as you please - personally I
prefer it with a sh added somewhere) happens.

Definitely no harm, no foul.

Truth be told, I rather thought an email chain based upon what amounts
to spam would be rather a humorous thing - thus I responded. It would
amuse me more if you could reply back Stephen.

Liz - I was guessing you weren't really into handbags (I've never seen
you with one) - which left me with a bit of a dilemma. Does being a
female Linux user mean you should have a handbag? No! Definitely not!
And again, I'm left with those two, what I hope will become immortal
words, By Golly!

I don't think I could start an anti-handbag movement though again, it
would amuse me. There are still people out there who like to
accessorise via the use of handbags. (What do you mean my skirt
doesn't have pockets!?!?!) There are perfectly good reasons for using
one. It's just it has absolutely nothing to do with Linux or Open
source - drivers have not yet been written.

And one more for good luck: By Golly!
