[nzlug] 32bit vs 64bit speed/performance

 From a less geeky perspective,

I switched last year to AMD 64 for Ubuntu (on feisty) and haven't had  
any major issues with the non-availability of software for 64 bit  
distros. On the other hand, DVD ripping has really improved  
significantly, Open Office seems to be snappier and I feel just so  
much more at the forefront of geek culture that I even think about  
growing a pony tail.
