Agreed. The Soekris are nice but are a littel pricey.

When I wanted to ditch a full beige box firewall to save some power I went to 
a Linksys WRT54GL with OpenWRT. It does what I need well for this network 
very well and uses very little power. I believe it even has web based GUI 
stuff somewhere.
