My desktop is using regular IMAP, but my laptop is disconnected IMAP because
it's not too uncommon that I want to access email and I'm not in a situation
where I can get online.

It also means I can reply to a bunch of email on the bus, and when I hit the
range of an access point, I can upload it all at once.
