I'm going to jump on this thread, and possibly change its course
(apologies to those who were looking to bash IMAP or KMail)...

Being a long time user of Thunderbird IMAP (Dovecot server), and now
that Thunderbird has an Offline (disconnected) mode that seems to work,
ok'ish (I'm not 100% happy with it, but it does, for the most part work,
and more importantly, doesn't fail spectacularly), I'm wondering what,
if anything, others use for offline IMAP?

Of the users who are happy IMAP users, what do you use for offline IMAP,
if any?

I find myself often using Webmail (Roundcube, its cute), but my Treo has
an interesting mode. It can be configured to only download only unread,
or only last 1,3,7 days worth of email headers. This works well, since
my IMAP folders regularly contain over a 1000 messages, and I don't like
the idea of synching 1000 headers over a cellular data link :)
