I've been using gmail for a short time and I'm finding that the lack
of threading is one of the most serious disadvantages. Especially in
relation to development mailing lists such as linux kernel dev, where
there is a very high volume of mail, and more critically replies to
patches, which if not read in order can become quite hard to
interpret. Some threads can extend for 40-50 messages or more, and
include intentional subject changes. I wish online providers could
support something as nice as kmail, but I guess its bandwidth
constraints.
PS: Another downside to gmail is the lack of fixed font support. If
anyone knows how I can make that happen just for the message text, I'd
be much obliged. I'm using firefox 2.
