[nzlug] Awstats and mail.log

Hi list,

My previous post on rotating mail log files was actually related to my
main issue of Awstats not being able to read the log file due to 0640
permissions.

Does anyone here run Awstats on their mail.log files, and if so how have
you solved log file permission issues?

It seems I could modify sysklogd in cron.weekly and cron.daily to have
*all* syslog logs with file permissions of 0644, but is that the best
solution?

This is on a feisty box and is my own personal server, but I would still
like to try to do this 'correctly'.

Many thanks.
