[nzlug] Completely unmounting USB device

Strangely enough I have found similar behavior with my cheap no-brander
MP3 player (ASMART).

Something happens to corrupt the firmware if I use it on my Linux box -
it doesn't happen every time, but only if I leave it plugged in over
suspend/resume operations.

When I next go to use it the firmware crashes during initialisation,
causing the MP3 player to reboot itself over and over.

To fix I have to re-flash the firmware.

Mike

I'd also like to know as I had an issue with mine over weekend. I
plugged
it in to charge it up and then just left it in when I turned off my
Linux
machine. After that it wouldn't turn on at all!

It may be a problem with that particular type as I was told (by a young
teenager mind you) that pushing a paperclip into the hole labelled Reset

would fix it. Why have a feature like that unless theres a known issue
that
reuqires it?
