I set up a Brother MFC 210c on Ubuntu 6.06 for my neighbour last weekend.
For this MFC, Brother supply excellent Linux support for the scanner and
the colour printer and also for the fax, using a brfax virtual printer
device.

I was surpised. It took no time at all once I had downloaded the suppled
*.deb files....and the only re-req I didn't meet was the c chell (csh) was
a requirement. There was an excellent web page (non-Brother) describing
exactly how to get everything working.
