Hi Steve I run debian on one of these hackable NAS devices:
http://www.kurobox.com/
only problem is the one 10/100/1000MB port. You could add a usb nic to
it however (yuck I know..). Mines currently running Debian with a custom
2.6kernel goes well even got it hooked up with a wireless nic etc..they
use very little power.
Theres also the kurobox pro coming out soon (you can get it already but
not from kurobox.com yet check out
"http://www.geekstuff4u.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=498"
unfortunately still only one lan port by the looks on that two.
