They were running Qcad under Windows - it's cross-platform.

There's actually some debate going on in the Art Of Illusion
http://artofillusion.org forum, with people discussing how to create a
CAD-friendly layer on it. AoI is a Java app and works well across
Linux/Windows/Mac - I use it for simple 3D CAD work myself. Linkx of
course :)
