You could also choose to set the default server timezone as UT, and
then just have your own personal login environment in NZ time.

That way there'll never be any daylight-savings discontinuities in
syslog'd files :-) but you'll always get annoyed having to translate
"an hour ago" into the server's perspective, which'll be between 12
and 14 hours different from that :-)
