Well, the asynchronicity makes it more dynamic ... and if your HTML
isn't XHTML (and therefore XML) you probably should be writing it
differently :-)

Back in 2000 one of my architect buddies was putting together a
webmail service, and he observed that a typical user session would be
significantly smaller if you just downloaded the whole mailbox in one
big page, and used DHTML to hide the messages until the user clicked
on them ... slower up front of course ...
