I did the Telecom "Grinder" stand at the last America's Cup and we used
X with no desktop. We displayed several Konqueror browser windows, each
displaying different things, as well as video and graphics popping up.
This was all driven off a series of scripts that managed their own
timing and ran concurrently. A wondrous beast to behold :)
