[nzlug] Fans?!?

The thing about fans, is it not just a bout the volume of air that
they can move.. If a case fan runs too fast for example, half its
energy may be spent pumping the little dervishis of wind it creates
around, rather than providing a steady airflow past the critical
components.
My case has a couple of fans that draw air in, and the only exhaust is
out through the PSU and the small gaps in the case. Both 80mm fans run
around 2-3000 rpm and keep the internal components well under 40
degrees unless I'm compiling, or its really hot inside anyway (no AC).
The most important thing is that the air goes past those components,
such as CPU and chipset. If I dial up the speed on the case fans it
sounds like a plane taking off, and the temps go up!
