I find choice is one of the best things about Linux distributions. 
Ubuntu isn't my kettle of fish: I can think of at least three 
major shortcomings which make it quite unacceptable to me. That 
isn't a problem, because there are several distros which satisfy 
all my requirements, or come tolerably close. Even if my preferred 
distro disappeared, I could make do with several others (or move 
to BSD, if the remaining distros all became Ubuntu look-alikes). 
Each to their own. Too much Ubuntu evangelising is a "bad" thing!
