Not really a fair comparison as XFS is not a native filesystem of OSX or
Windows and therefore one should not expect support there. Why do you
consider XFS is a "non-standard configuration" (apart from the fact that
Ubuntu doesn't support it;) )? As far as I know XFS is a native Linux
filesystem, and is fairly common in some sectors so therefore should be
supported as it is on other distributions.
