Hello,

I know in the UK also, and I assume the rest of Europe that you can get
selected systems with Linux, though there have been some strange stories
around them , for example this gem

http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/06/05/145238 - which has now
been corrected, but a very bizarre case

http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/06/20/1215213

I find it hard to understand why they would roll out Ubuntu in some parts of
the world and not others. Maybe the person you spoke to wasn't a very well
trained/informed sales person?

Strangely, going on the New Zealand dell website and searching for Ubuntu,
the pages I find take me to the American site...
