Just an update for those who responded to my plea for advice regarding the
non-functioning network on my SAM Linux installation.

After receiving a Powerpack version of Mandriva 2007 I installed it to my
Compaq Presario V6000 laptop (upgraded to 2mb ram). Installation went fine
but on reboot the damn thing hung at (i think) "initialising kernel". After
three reinstallations I gave up and re-installed Sam Linux straight over the
top. Guess what. Everything including the wireless network worked perfectly
first time. I particularly like the Beryl desktop.

What was different this time I have no idea but I am now a very happy
camper. Thanks again  to all those who  helped out last  time.
