[nzlug] All email clients suck, no exceptions

Funny that, I would have saideth Kmail it sucketh not, until a couple of days 
ago when it started forgetting which messages were 'read'.  

That is, in the Inbox, when I read a message it turned from blue (new) to 
black (read), but if I changed to another folder then back again, the message 
promptly turns blue again!@!   Same if I close Kmail and reopen it.   Not all 
messages, just most - currently I have 114 'unread' messages and rising....   

And nothing I've tried will fix it!

Opera mail is quirky ('sides, I can't get Opera running on this '64 yet), 
Icedove (ex Firefox) is passable, Evolution IIRC  won't show me the source 
(which I WANT to do when I get a phishing scam with a phony 'link' to 
security.ebay.com to click on).....    

I just tried using Balsa as an emailer - it's reading messages fine but I 
can't persuade it to send them!   That is, it _says_ it's sent them, but the 
KPPP window shows nothing going out...

Kmail suits me fine, when it's working....
